Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr has told striker Marc Williams to find his scoring boots and fire his way back into the starting line-up.

Williams was left out against his former club Wrexham on Saturday, appearing as a substitute against the team he left in the summer.

The striker had started the previous six games for Harriers, but had been withdrawn in all but two of them.

His solitary goal for the season, so far, came in the 2-0 home defeat of Southport at the end of last month.

Manager Steve Burr made the call to drop the former Wales under-21 international but, without him, Harriers lost 2-0 at the Racecourse Ground.

And the Harriers boss is keen to stress that the door is not closed to Williams, rather ajar while the forward finds his form again.

Burr said: "It is important to keep all of the lads fresh. He'd scored one in six going into the Wrexham game, he works very hard but, as a striker, we are looking for more goals from him.

"It just so happened to be Wrexham on Saturday but there was nothing in that at all because, nine times out of 10 leaving a lad in the squad to play against his former club can work for you.

"We just felt he was needing a bit of a rest."
