Harriers pulled plug on deadline deal

Kidderminster Harriers pulled the plug on a prospective transfer deal hours before the summer transfer window slammed shut.
Manager Steve Burr has confirmed he was looking to make one more signing before last night's 11pm deadline, but the demands of the player's agent scuppered the move.
Burr would not the reveal the identity of his target but, with Jack Cresswell facing a further month out with a hamstring injury, midfield was the most pressing priority.
But the Harriers boss would not be held to ransom even with the clock ticking and, as the day progressed, the move fell through.
He said: "We were hoping to bring somebody in but, unfortunately, the agent who was dealing with it has messed up the move for the lad, really.
"The lad was quite keen on coming, but the financial demands of the agent were just unrealistic for us."
Cresswell is to set to spend a longer period on the sidelines then first hoped, after already being out for a month, which prompted Burr to act.
He said: "I am more than happy with the squad anyway, it was just that this lad became available.
"Jack Cresswell is injured at the moment and it's looking like longer term, so it was just to keep the squad to having everybody available.
"He's possibly going to be out for another month yet, I would have thought."
Harriers can enter the loan market in a week's time, but Burr will only utilise borrowing players unless absolutely necessary.
He added: "We will leave it, at the minute, it's there to use but the squad have done very well."
