Cradley's Chris Male was today waiting on a date to box for the English featherweight title after Ricky Hatton's company made the winning offer to stage the fight.

Stourbridge's Rob Norton has also seen a prospective defence of his British cruiserweight crown put out to purse bids against, for the second time, Herbie Hide.

Male has been matched with Joe Murray in a title bout to take place under the Hatton Promotions banner, for the vacant English belt.

The fight has already been put to purse bids once with no offers made but the Hattons wanted to take a look at Male on one of their shows first, where he wiped out Dougie Curran in three rounds in June.

Norton and Hide has also been put to purse bids with no takers once, in last May's round of matches by the British Boxing Board of Control, but interested parties now have until September 14 to make an offer.

However, Hide pulled out of the first match claiming to have landed a world title shot, which never materialised.
