Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr today gave the thumbs up to his new-look squad's application in pre-season.

Burr is away from the club for a few days on a scouting mission, with assistant boss Gary Whild taking the team for Friday night's 4-2 win over a young Wolves side at Aggborough.

Harriers now round off their pre-season schedule with games at Hinckley United tomorrow night and Rugby Town on Saturday, before the season opener at home to Gateshead seven days later.

Burr's men have already played eight friendlies and a win over Wolves took their victory total to four, with four defeats.

Results matter little, at this stage, to the Harriers boss, who solely wants to get the players fit ahead of the new season.

And Burr today declared himself happy with the conditioning of his side, which contains 11 new signings in a 22-man squad.

He said: "Both myself and Gary are pleased with how pre-season has gone, we have got a lot of new lads in the squad which is a similar sort of situation to last year, so it's about getting them fit and ready for the big kick off.

"They are hungry to do well, just like last year's squad, and the plan for us is the same as it was then - finish as high up the league as possible."
