Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr today rated last night's friendly against Albion as "a good work out" - despite the Baggies running out winners through a Kemar Roofe hat-trick.

Roofe was the hat-trick hero for a young Albion side at Aggborough, although Harriers had taken the lead with a Jamille Matt strike and equalised through substitute Steve Guinan.

Most of the Baggies' first team squad are away on the club's tour of the United States but last night's team still boasted a blend of professionals and England youth internationals, including £1million left-back Joe Mattock.

Albion's third choice goalkeeper Luke Daniels was twice beaten by Harriers strikes with the goal from Guinan, a 35-year-old of over 100 career goals, the pick of the two.

Midfielder Scott Phelan picked up a knock to his left shin in his 45-minute run out, but will now rest for a couple of days and could return for Saturday's trip to Northwich.

And boss Burr, having tinkered with his side all game with just two players finishing the 90 minutes, was not overly concerned by last night's defeat.

He said: "I was pleased with the performance, I thought it was a really good work out. It was good to get the lads 45 minutes each and one or two played the full 90 as well.

"They can all play - we have got some good footballers here and, technically, they are very strong.

"We just know how strong this level is and the one thing we did well last year was putting in that work-rate off the ball.

"We need to make sure we get that again."
