Wolves speedway home game is off

Wet weather has claimed Wolves' Elite League speedway match against Belle Vue at Monmore Green.

The circuit is waterlogged, forcing tonight's game to be postponed.

Wolves' Fredrik Lindgren, meanwhile, has added another Speedway World Cup medal to his growing collection – but the gold still eludes him.

Lindgren top-scored for his country with 12 as Sweden finished third in Gorzow, Poland.

All four finalists had at least a share of the lead at some stage but it was the hosts who finished strongly for their third successive title, beating off a stiff challenge from Australia with Denmark fourth.
