Sean Kinsella could stay at Rangers
Stafford Rangers boss Greg Clowes has hinted there could be a future for Sean Kinsella at Marston Road - despite the midfielder lining up a trial at Stockport.
Stafford Rangers boss Greg Clowes has hinted there could be a future for Sean Kinsella at Marston Road - despite the midfielder lining up a trial at Stockport.
Kinsella is a free agent after his non-contract forms at Rangers expired at the end of last season and was a full-time footballer until March.
The 19-year-old had a professional contract with Football League club Plymouth until January before moving to Maltese Premier League outfit Hibernians, lasting two months overseas.
And Kinsella's yearning to remain in the full-time game will see him spend this Saturday and next Monday training with Stockport, who were relegated from the Football League next season.
Rangers will keep tabs on the player in the meantime, who will still join them for training tonight and could even be back for their next session on Tuesday night.
Kinsella wants to be put on a contract if his only option is to remain semi-pro next season and boss Clowes admits, in the right circumstances, a deal could be struck.
He said: "While he has got this Stockport thing in the back of his mind, that's going to come first and I don't blame Sean for thinking that way.
"I have had a green light from the board to sign contract players if I need to but I will only do that if it's right for the club, the fans and the player.
"If Sean thinks that Stafford is the right move for him and shows the right attitude, we can sit down and talk about it.
"If he comes up trumps for us, I am sure we can sit down and sort something out.
"But he's got options in front of Stafford Rangers at the moment."
