Kidderminster Harriers could look to new signing James Vincent to become 'the new Keith Briggs' after bring the tough-tackling midfielder to Aggborough.

Vincent signed a one-year contract yesterday after his release from boyhood club Stockport County where he played with Briggs, who left for Blue Square Premier rivals Fleetwood last month.

Briggs was captain and added a bite to the Harriers midfield in his one season at Aggborough and Vincent, despite his tender age of 21, is looking to follow his lead.

He said: "I think you have to enjoy that side of the game if you're playing in the middle of the park.

"Everyone likes to move the ball around and play football and I'm no different but you have to appreciate the other side of things, too.

"I'm fine with that and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Vincent also revealed he got the lowdown on life at Aggborough from Briggs before making the move.

The Harriers new-boy said: "I've done my homework on the club and have spoken to a few lads, like Keith, and I have only heard good things.

"I've seen the ground and the training facilities and it genuinely looks like a great club, so I was really pleased to sign and be a part of it."

Vincent made 71 appearances in League One and Two with Stockport, having joined the Hatters at the age of eight.
