Midland netball stars took centre stage as they scooped their end-of-season awards.

Teams from Dudley, Walsall, Cannock, Sedgley, Bilston and Wombourne were honoured at the Wolverhampton City Netball League's annual dinner and dance presentations.

Crescent picked up their award for winning League Division One ahead of runners-up PHX – who were also honoured for their fine season.

Chasetown A received their gong for victory in League Division Two, while SAM 1 were handed an award for finishing as runners-up.

Laura Green, from Sapphets, and Whitmore's Vicki Rock were awarded the top shot accolade while Anna Fullwood took the open shooting honour.

Green's Sapphets team-mates Charlie Watson and Linda Thomas took the sportsgirl and sportswomen awards of the season respectively. Zimmers claimed the sportsmanship team of the year.

Man Of The Year went to James Royall and Iesha and Sharna Khan-Bishton were the top novice umpires.

Other awards went to Chasers Juniors for the League Division Three title, Wordsley Storks for Division Three runners-up, Chase Comets were Division Four winners and Chase took the crown for their Division Five triumph.
