Kidderminster Harriers have secured their seventh new player of a busy summer at Aggborough with the capture of free agent Mickey Demetriou.

The utility man has signed a one-year contract after his departure from Eastbourne, following their relegation from the Blue Square Premier.

Demetriou comes to Aggborough with a reputation for having plenty of potential and, in the past, has spent time on trial at Leicester and Fulham.

Indeed, the 21-year-old was offered the chance to stay at Eastbourne but decided to leave, wanting to stay in non-league football's top flight.

In came Harriers, who were in the market for a left-sided player and Demetriou can even play as a striker.

And assistant boss Gary Whild believes the deal represents a "great bit of business" for the club.

He said: "Mickey is a left-sided player who can play in a number of positions and he's a big, strong lad.

"It's a great bit of business for us - he ticks a lot of boxes for us and we are looking forward to working with him."
