Kidderminster Harriers were today searching for a new fans representative on the club's board of directors after Karl Davies stepped down due to work commitments.

Davies has quit after just three months in the role with the Kidderminster Harriers Independent Supporters Trust (KHIST) now looking for a candidate from within their own ranks to replace him.

A full-time businessman, Davies is a managing director of Italian pet product manufacturers Ferplast, whose United Kingdom head office is based in Wigan.

Travelling, as well as the workload, was becoming a problem for Davies, who has reluctantly decided to step down.

He said: "My company has, like many, had a tough ride with the economic climate in its current state.

"I am at a point where I, understandably, need to focus all of my efforts and drive on the company.

"This makes it simply impossible to also handle the workload involved with being a director of the club."

Harriers made the decision to have a fans representative on the board after KHIST's part in helping raise the money that saved the club from administration in February.

That relationship will continue, with chairman Mark Serrell due to meet with KHIST when he returns from a family holiday in Turkey next week.

He said: "The board would like to thank Karl for all of his hard word during his time as a director, it's our belief that he represented the fans of Kidderminster Harriers superbly.

"His enthusiasm and commitment will certainly be missed."
