Kidderminster Harriers today moved to tie up the futures of three move of their current stars for next season's Blue Square Premier promotion assault.

The club have exercised their options to keep striker Nick Wright and midfielder Jack Byrne and striker Nick Wright for another year, while 11-goal winger Matthew Blair has also been offered new terms.

Blair has yet to accept his contract offer but, should he decline, another potential taker would have to pay a fee to Harriers as he is under 24.

However, Wright and Byrne are on board and take the number of contracted players at Aggborough for next season to 11, the highest number in recent years.

Byrne will sit out the first four games of next season after picking up his third red card of the campaign, all straight sending offs, in the penultimate game of 2010-11.

But that hasn't stopped manager Steve Burr keeping the tough-tackling midfielder, his first signing for the club in March 2010, at Aggborough.

And former Redditch part-timer Byrne admits he has plenty to thank Harriers for.

He said: "From where I have been and where I am now, I will always be grateful to Kidderminster for giving me by chance.

"I wasn't looking to move anywhere and this football club has given me the opportunity to play where I am now.

"It's been a different sort of end of season for me because, last year, the gaffer wasn't really re-signing players that he already had."
