Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr has admitted that his side's play-off challenge could have "run out of steam" after their undefeated streak came to an end.

Last night's 2-1 defeat to Darlington at home was the first time Harriers had lost in 16 games, but leaves them cut adrift of the top five by four points.

Fleetwood occupy the last play-off spot and are the next visitors to Aggborough on Friday, in a game where even a home win cannot overhaul the visitors.

York also barged past Harriers last night into sixth place by a point having played the same amount of matches, after they beat Luton.

Harriers - while not losing until the Darlington defeat - have taken three points from the last 12 on offer, with three games left to go of the season.

And Burr admits the team could be running on empty after a gruelling run, but has also declared they won't give up until the task is beyond them.

He said: "Maybe we have just run out of steam with these lads this season, but it's not over yet.

"These lads have been fantastic for us and, at this stage of the season, we just want to squeeze that little bit more out of them.

"If we get a win on Friday, we are still back in there but the task is much harder now."
