Kidderminster Harriers chairman Mark Serrell has revealed that the club are in negotiations to tie further players to new contracts before the end of the season.

Goalkeeper Danny Lewis, defender Michael Briscoe and midfielder Callum Gittings have already signed new deals, not to mention fresh three-year terms for boss Steve Burr and his assistant Gary Whild.

Now Serrell has authorised Burr to make further offers to the current squad, with the club looking to tie down the core members of the team even though the campaign has yet to draw to a close.

And Harriers still don't know what division they will be in next season after mounting a play-off challenge, which continues at all-but-relegated Eastbourne on Saturday.

Serrell, with the club looking to get 1,000 season ticket holders on board for 2011-02, has also revealed any money raised from the promotion assault will go straight to the manager.

He said: "There are moves afoot and offers have been made to other players, it's down to Steve but there's a couple, I am sure. We will go from there and see what happens.

"We have got the semblance of a squad but there's certain things that Steve has got to take into account, because we don't know exactly what division we are going to be in next season.

"It makes a difference if we get into the play-offs, as well, because then the manager would have extra funds."

Burr has declared his intention to keep his faith in most of the current squad for next season - regardless of what league Harriers are in.

The Harriers boss signed all but one of the playing staff, 17-goal top scorer Chris McPhee, and believes they deserve their shot.

He said: "We are pleased with what we have done so far, we are still discussing one or two things and, if these lads carry on performing like they are doing, they will get their rewards.

"If we achieve success this season the picture could change, but I think these lads are young enough and capable of getting stronger.

"As a manager, I want to build on what I have got."

Harriers' Early Bird initiative, where supporters can buy next season's tickets at a reduced rate, expires a week on Saturday.
