Harriers boss set for former suitors
Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr insists the game at Grimsby has had "nothing at all" added to it by the Mariners' move for him last month.
Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr insists the game at Grimsby has had "nothing at all" added to it by the Mariners' move for him last month.
Grimsby asked for permission to speak to the Harriers boss when they were looking for a manager, which Burr and the club rejected out of hand.
Burr went on to sign a new three-year contract at Aggborough, while the Mariners appointed joint bosses in Boston United management duo Rob Scott and Paul Hurst.
Scott and Hurst will still be looking for their first win in charge when Harriers are the visitors tomorrow, the first time Burr has ever been in charge of a team at Blundell Park.
But the manager has injury problems to contend after today confirming that striker Lee Morris and utility man Tom Shaw are definitely out, while defender Michael Briscoe is also a likely absentee.
Morris has a calf injury picked up in training this week, while Shaw missed last Saturday's visit of Luton after taking a heavy knock to his ankle in the previous game at Mansfield.
Briscoe is a major doubt with an ankle problem and left-back Mike Williams is also struggling with a calf strain.
It leaves Burr with plenty think about in his own camp, rather than whether the hosts would have wanted him in the home or away dugout tomorrow.
He said: "It doesn't add anything at all, it's going to be a tough game tomorrow away at Grimsby but we will go there trying to win the match, although these injuries have made it harder.
"However, it gives someone the opportunity to go in and, as other people have done this season, do well."
