Kidderminster Harriers have set themselves a target of attracting 1,000 season ticket holders to Aggborough for the 2011/12 season.

The club launched their Early Bird initiative last month, where supporters can buy next season's tickets at a reduced rate from March 14 to April 23, with 234 already sold.

Harriers sold 560 season tickets in total for the current campaign and chairman Mark Serrell wants to at least surpass that, with aspirations of even getting into four-figures for 2011/12.

And the club still don't know what division they will be playing in next season as they push for the play-offs which, if successful, could hand them their place back in the Football League.

With support also swelling after dramatically improved home gates, Harriers are hoping to convince the extra fans that have come through the turnstiles to stick them after the summer.

The club are almost financially back in the black after coming close to administration in February and, if Serrell's targets can be met, the chairman believes they have a sound platform for the future.

He said: "We have targeted 1,000, but whether we would be able to get that many or not I don't know. We are nearly halfway towards last season's total and we haven't even finished the season yet.

"We want more than last year, that's what we would like. We are being positive, we have set out what our target is and people, generally, leave things until the last minute.

"We are now getting, based on the last four home games, an average of an extra 1,000 supporters and that has made a tremendous difference."
