Stourbridge Saxons' director of rugby Neil Mitchell has targeted a bonus point win over Sedgley Park.

The Saxons will not be lacking motivation on Saturday after they went down 19-14 to the Manchester side earlier this season, in a match played in monsoon conditions.

And Mitchell said: "We owe them massively, but I am after five points. I don't want to see festival rugby and I don't think we need to run up a cricket score, but I want those points."

Although the Saxons are coming off the back of a last Saturday's 31-16 defeat to Barking, Mitchell saw some positives in the team's performance that he hopes the players take into the rest of the season.

He said: "I think we were up for a bonus point. They just had that bit more precision about their play. We tackled well in the first half but three tackle errors really let us down, we gave away too many points. We were punished for silly mistakes.

"When you play a good team like Barking it comes down to margins and the margins last weekend were a few missed tackles.

"It was a hard physical contest but the players cannot think they can take it easy against Sedgley Park."

Mitchell believes it's particularly important that his players do not read too much into the fact that Sedgley Park conceded 65 points to Tynedale in their last match.

The Saxons boss is also hopeful ex-Springbok Thinus Delport will be available for Saturday's clash and for the remainder of the season, should his media commitments allow.

Centre Tom Jarvis picked up a knock and had to be substituted at Barking, but could also be available for the weekend.

However, Mitchell reckons the key selection dilemma will be who plays at fly-half with Sam Robinson after suffering a dead leg two weeks ago, pushing Cameron Brown for a place.

Mitchell added: "Cameron kicked well last week and did not do a lot wrong in other areas of the game."
