Kidderminster Harriers have handed out their fourth new contract of the week after winger Callum Gittings signed fresh terms to keep him at the club for next season.
Hot on the heels of three-year deals for manager Steve Burr and his assistant Gary Whild on Monday, along with a two-year contract for goalkeeper Danny Lewis yesterday, Gittings has committed himself to Harriers for 2011-12.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation at Aggborough this season after being plucked from Midland Alliance part-timers Alvechurch last summer, earning a one-year professional deal after a lengthy trial period.
Gittings had been expected to play a bit-part role this season but has made 38 appearances, scoring four goals, for Harriers this season and also leads the club's assist charts with six.
The Birmingham-born wide man now has the security of another year in the full-time game and assistant manager Gary Whild believes it's just reward for his efforts.
Whild said: "It was important for both parties to get things tied up here. Callum has contributed a large part to what we have done so far this season and he has been rewarded for that.
"The good thing about him for us as a management team is that he has the ability to play in a number of positions and that is massive with a small squad.
"He has made great progress as a footballer this season and you can see the potential in him."
Goalkeeper Lewis is another to have prospered after making the step up to Harriers from part-time football, playing under Whild at Redditch last season.
The 28-year-old is in his second spell at Aggborough and has already played 39 games this season, more than doubling his appearance total first time around between 2004 and 2006.
He said: "I have really enjoyed my time here and when the gaffer sat me down and spoke to me about wanting to keep me here it was just a case of 'where's the pen?'
"I have a couple of years' security here now and it's something we can forget about and just carry on with what we have been doing."
