Kidderminster Harriers defender Tom Sharpe was today hoping his season isn't over after he suffered a dislocated knee against Crawley.

Sharpe popped out his left kneecap in the goalless draw at Aggborough last night and, although Harriers' medical staff managed to pop it back in, is expected to spend a month-plus on the sidelines after being stretchered off just before the half hour mark.

The 22-year-old now fancies an anxious wait to discover the extent of the damage and, with his contract up in the summer, could have kicked his last ball of the campaign.

It's another bitter blow for Sharpe, who had only just broke back into the team at right-back after losing his place in the centre, again due to an injury absence, when he picked up a huge gash to his right knee at Barrow in January.

And manager Steve Burr is being forced to prepare for life without the former Nottingham Forest youngster.

The Harriers boss said: "He's going to be out for a while. He's just unfortunate. I think he just caught the grass the wrong way and his knee popped out."

Burr was, however, delighted with Harriers for stretching their unbeaten run to 10 games by taking a point from the new Blue Square Premier league leaders last night.

It left on-song Harriers in fifth spot and still unbeaten in 2011.

The manager said: "On this showing, Crawley are the best side we have come up against. Taking into consideration the opposition, it was a good result for us.

"They came here, showed us a lot of respect, and worked very hard as a team to stop us playing.

"Crawley have got some good players, but that's what you can do with the type of budget they have.

"The title is there's to lose now and we have managed to keep our unbeaten run going."
