Kidderminster Harriers have turned down an approach from Blue Square Premier rivals Grimsby to talk to boss Steve Burr about their managerial vacancy.

The Mariners have been denied permission to speak to Burr by the club, who consulted with the manager before making the decision.

Grimsby made their move on Thursday, with Harriers locked in discussions with Burr yesterday to reach a solution.

The England C assistant boss has led a play-off challenge this season after taking Aggborough hot-seat 13 months ago, despite financial turmoil which saw the club come hours away from administration last month.
