Stourbridge Saxons' hooker Liam Wordley is looking forward to Saturday's trip to London Scottish to see how far the Stourton Park side has progressed.
Scottish ran out 17-9 winners in the home fixture back in October but the Saxons then lost just one more game in 2010 as they climbed the National One table
The Wolverhampton-based front row admitted: "We are looking forward to it. The match against London Scottish will be a benchmark of how far we have come.
"Saturday's game at Sedgley Park was very disappointing, we made lots of mistakes with a wet ball. Our defence was pretty solid and we worked pretty hard but I think they played the conditions better than us.
"If you look at their tries they were from our errors."
The Saxons were edged out 19-14 by their Manchester opponents on a waterlogged pitch.
Ali Bressington kicked three penalties for the visitors but it was Wordley who scored his side's only try of the day to cap a man of the match display.
The hooker said: "It was a real forwards' try. People were working very selflessly in there I went from the back to the front and the momentum was regenerated to get us over.
"It may have been hollow from a personal point of view but it did earn us the bonus point, which could be important at the end of the season.
"It was testing for us because those were the worst conditions we have played in this season. It will be a different kettle of fish next week.
"We have been working hard and this match at London Scottish will show how far we have come."
