Three tries in the final quarter saw Stourbridge Saxons secure their first win of 2011 by 36-16 and wrap up a bonus point in the process.

Neil Mitchell's side could not have wished for a better start, opening their try count after just four minutes when James Rodley dived on the ball after a catch and drive move from the pack.

But this seemed to galvanise the visitors who controlled the next 30 minutes to edge ahead thanks to penalties from Paul Humphries and Sam Windsor.

Stourbridge had struggled to get their hands on the ball but, as the half drew to a close, Ali Bressington slotted over a hat-trick of penalties to put them back in the driving seat.

Visiting hooker Jack Knight was binned just before the break and he was joined by Saxons' scrum-half Louis Silver and Blackheath winger James Stephenson at the start of the second period.

Windsor edged the visitors to within five points with a second penalty before Stourbridge started to turn the screw with their late flourish.

Bressington started the ball rolling with a penalty kick from in front of the posts and from then on there was no stopping the home side.

Jamie Hearn scorched in for a second Stourbridge try on 68 minutes following good work from Thinus Delport and the former Springbok international was again in the thick of things five minutes later, this time linking with Bressington on the opposite wing to allow Tom Jarvis to race in.

Not even a yellow card for Rodley could knock the Saxons off their stride and prop Will Davis ran in from 15 metres for the bonus try, Bressington adding the extras to bring his personal tally to 16 points.

Replacement Matt Vaughan broke clear for a late consolation score for the visitors, converted by Windsor.
