Kyle Hadley is close to leaving Kidderminster Harriers after agreeing to terminate his contract - as boss Steve Burr ponders changes to a winning team at Forest Green.
Winger Hadley is set to depart Aggborough by mutual consent with his deal, due to expire at the end of the season, cancelled.
The 24-year-old revealed to the Express & Star last week that he was set for showdown talks with the manager about his future, having returned from three months on loan at Harrogate.
Hadley was keen to remain Yorkshire as he has his girlfriend and young child living in Doncaster, while Burr wants to claw back his wages to part-fund his own transfer moves.
The two sides have reached a mutual agreement and the player's one-and-a-half year stay at Aggborough is set to be over by the end of the week.
In the meantime, Burr is focused on tonight's trip to Forest Green, for the rescheduled game which was originally due to take place on Boxing Day.
Harriers beat Barrow 2-0 at home on Saturday but the manager could rest players at the New Lawn, believing one or two of the men that have helped the team to eighth in the table have been working so flat out they could use a "breather."
He said: "We have had a look at it and we're probably going to change one or two things, because I personally think that one or two need a bit of a rest.
"At Forest Green we will possibly look at utilising more of the squad and moving some things around.
"The lads have been playing an awful lot of football lately and this is definitely a squad game, so there are those that could do with a breather.
"It's down, then, to the players who do get the chance to get us three points."
