Former chairman David Reynolds has today severed the last of his links to Kidderminster Harriers with a parting gift - waiving all rights to his loans to the club.

Reynolds has announced his resignation from the board of Harriers' parent company, Aggborough Holdings, and has walked away without the money he put in to save the club last year.

Harriers were 24 hours away from administration before Reynolds, who initially returned as chairman, and acting board member Mark Serrell came in last October and stumped up £93,000 to take over from Barry Norgrove.

The club's financial situation is still grave and Reynolds is no longer on the board, having handed over the reins to Serrell, who replaced him as chairman at New Year's Day.

But his token gift of a nearly six-figures to the club he has led - on and off - since 1991 is a welcome boost for the Blue Square Premier club.

And Serrell admits that, without the intervention of their chairman in recent years, Harriers might not have a club to call their own today.

He said: "Without David Reynolds' financial input in 2009 and again in October 2010, Kidderminster Harriers Football Club would no longer be in business.

"David has also waived repayment on all the loans he has given to the football club.

"He has only ever been interested in ensuring the best for Kidderminster Harriers Football Club, and to this end we have to reluctantly accept the decision that he has made."

Harriers have also announced that single tickets will be available for the sportsman dinner with former Manchester United and England winger Lee Sharpe at Aggborough on February 11.

To book, contact Helen MacDonald at the club on 01562 823 931.
