Kidderminster Harriers have decided against appealing the league governing body's decision to dock them five points ahead of the Blue Square Premier trip to Barrow.

The club have decided to accept the punishment handed out to them last week for a charge of financial irregularities and will now draw a line under the matter.

Since the penalty was imposed last Thursday, the team have picked up four points from two games and a draw tomorrow would see them make up the five they have lost.

But manager Steve Burr doesn't see it like that, seeing points lost as exactly that however it pans out at Barrow.

He said: "Somebody told me the other day, 'win the next two games and you have got your points back.'

"Well you haven't really, because if that hadn't have happened we would be looking at an extra six points."

As it stands, Harriers won't even drop out of the top 10 with their points deduction, as they prepare for a double-header with tomorrow's hosts over the next two Saturdays.

The visitors' 360-mile round trip will then be undertaken by Barrow next week and Burr admits neither side will be able to use the travelling as an excuse.

But the manager – who should be able to welcome Lee Vaughan, Michael Briscoe and Mark Albrighton back to his defence tomorrow – would expect a tough game at Holker Street in any case.

He said: "We are playing them back-to-back, which is unusual, so there can't really be any complaining about the trip from either side!

"But you know every time you go up to Barrow you are in for a game, the crowd get right behind them.

"It's always been a tough place to go - always has been and always be."
