Stafford Rangers manager Tim Flowers has signed Tipton's hotshot striker Danny Campbell - but their next game at Guiseley was today in serious doubt.

Campbell is to get his chance in the Blue Square North after 23 goals already this season for the Midland Alliance outfit, although an immediate debut may have to wait.

A pitch inspection has been called at Guiseley's Nethermoor Park ground at 9am tomorrow although the prospective surface is fit to play on at the moment, because of the deterioration in the weather forecast for West Yorkshire tonight.

Rangers' team bus is due to set off at 10:30am in the morning, so Flowers and Co will know if they make the trip there will be an excellent chance of the game going ahead.

The manager prepared his players as normal at last night's training session, for what is a tough task against the second-placed side in the division.

He said: "We will be ready to take a team there and give it our best shot."

If his team make the trip, Flowers will be demanding a better effort than their last show on the road, a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Vauxhall Motors on November 23.

The manner in which his side went down particular irked the Rangers boss, who has been disappointed with the lack of communication between his players.

He said: "There was only 100-odd people there and you could have heard a door mouse walking across the other side of the pitch, it was that quiet.

"I said to my assistant Matt Elliott 'doesn't anyone ever say anything?' No-one seems to command, cajole or try to help each other.

"Even our dressing room, pre-match, is so quiet. I say to the players 'come on boys, big game, get up for it.'

"I have even thrown it open after the game because I thought to myself, 'hold on, I have got some quite senior lads here, have you got an opinion or what?'

"The lads have really let themselves down in that respect."
