Stafford Rangers boss Tim Flowers finally has his first win as manager - but that will not stop him looking outside of Marston Road for "leaders."
Flowers was on the touchline last night as Rangers went through to the Staffordshire Senior Cup quarter-finals, with a 4-1 win at lower-league minnows Market Drayton Town.
Three of his signings got their first goals for the club in the process with Garyn Preen, James Ellison and Sean Kinsella all on target.
But that merely diverted the attention from Rangers' perilous position in the Blue Square North, locked level on points in the Blue Square North with bottom club Redditch, after just one point since Flowers took charge in October.
The Rangers boss believes he needs to freshen up the side with players who shout the odds and lead by example, but has so far drawn a blank in bringing experience into the club.
However, Flowers has vowed he will not rest until he has found hat he is looking for, after labelling the current team "too nice."
He said: "It's as simple as that. We get rolled over too easily. We need leadership, that can either be vocal or by the way people snap into a few tackles.
"I have got to try and bring in an ilk of player that has got a bit more about them, because we have got to get some spirit and some backbone to the football club.
"I want men, I want leaders, I don't want people who don't fancy the scrap because we are in one, it's as simple as that. The biggest thing in football is spirit, in my opinion, individually or as a team.
"It's massive in the equation, especially when your backs are against the wall, as ours are."
