Young Worcester starlet Matt Kvesic has put his scintillating form down to his time with Stourbridge Saxons at the start of the current campaign.
The back row ace has bagged three tries in his past two games for the Warriors and is looking forward to linking up with the England under-20 squad for the Six Nations competition starting in February.
And with two other Stourton Park favourites – Andy Short and Greg King – also on the scoresheet in Worcester's 58-10 thumping of Newport in the British & Irish Cup at the weekend, Kvesic is full of praise for the link between the clubs.
He said: "I played four games at Stourbridge early on and I would say that has been the most vital part of the season for me.
"At that point it is all about game time and I wasn't getting much joy with the firsts. I was playing A League games but I was worried that when they dried up I wasn't going to get any game time.
"Stourbridge are playing in a tough league – we came up against some big boys there.
"It may not be as quick as the Championship but National One is a really physical league dominated by forwards which was ideal for me, it probably toughened me up.
"And with Thinus Delport and Tony Windo involved at Stourbridge, there is a link between the two clubs with all the games being videoed and played back."
Kvesic is likely to be part of the Warriors squad that heads north of the border for a British & Irish Cup clash on Friday against Currie.
This follows a training camp in Portugal at the start of December with the national squad.
The 18-year-old explained: "I have just been away with the England under-20 side to prepare for the Six Nations.
"One of our games – against France – is at Worcester so that will be a big event for me.
"Everyone is competing for shirts at the moment but I'm hoping to be in the starting line-up."
