Kidderminster Harriers left-back Mike Williams has admitted his 2010 may be over after undergoing surgery on his injured foot.

Williams went under the knife to remove a growth on the top of his left foot last Saturday morning, ruling him out of the afternoon's FA Trophy defeat at his former club Wrexham.

The success of the operation cannot be judged until the bandage is taken off and the stitches are taken out a week on Thursday, three days before Harriers go to Forest Green on Boxing Day.

The 24-year-old cannot train until then either, ruling him out of Saturday's visit of Kettering and possibly both festive matches, Forest Green away and then Newport County at home on December 28.

But Williams is hoping to be fully fit by the time of the Forest Green return game at Aggborough on New Years Day, although he hasn't given up hope of returning before then.

He said: "I would imagine that the New Years Day game is a more realistic target to look to but, at the same time, I am not going to say I can't make a game until I have had the bandage taken off and the stitches taken out.

"Boxing Day could be a step too far, I literally have got to stay at home with my feet up for two weeks so the injury will heal.

"But I would rather make sure I am right for the rest of the season, instead of coming back too early and running the risk of being out again, because the wound has not healed properly.

"The surgeon I have seen is a foot specialist, so whatever he says I will do."
