Stafford Rangers could hit the bottom of the Blue Square North tonight as manager Tim Flowers anxiously takes note of Redditch's home match with Nuneaton.

Redditch are at the foot of the table but have a game in hand on second-bottom Rangers, who occupy the second relegation place.

Only a win would lift the Reds off the bottom and it would be a mean feat against their play-off chasing visitors, but boss Flowers at Rangers will not be able to sit comfortably until full-time tonight.

Defeat against Workington at Marston Road on Saturday left the manager with one point from five games since taking charge, having lost the last three.

It's fast becoming a ever-worsening relegation plight heading Christmas and the New Year, with second-placed Guiseley next up away from home on Saturday.

But midfielder Darren Wrack, who was relegated from the Championship and League One as a player at Walsall, insists the players can escape the drop if they can stick together.

The 34-year-old believes unity is the key when times are tough.

He said: "It's important we get any sort of win now to give our confidence a boost, the performances since the gaffer has come in have improved but we need that little bit of luck that people always go on about.

"At the end of the day, we are coming up to Christmas, halfway through the season, and we are where we are in the league. The table doesn't lie and we have got to get our head around the position we are in.

"We have got to stick together, get our heads down and listen to what has been told to us - I think those are the key elements.

"If we can do that, the rest will fall into place."
