Stafford Rangers manager Tim Flowers has warned his under-performing stars the game at Harrogate could be their last chance to shine.

Rangers go to North Yorkshire tomorrow with Flowers still looking for his first win as boss, losing three of his four games in charge.

The manager tore into his players at half-time after an abysmal first-half display in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Vauxhall Motors and is ready to get tough with the current squad, most of whom he inherited from his predecessor Chris Brindley.

Wetherby Road could be the last chance saloon for some of the Rangers team, with Harrogate today confident enough the game will go ahead they have not called a pitch inspection, as there has been no snow as yet on their playing surface.

Rangers have Jermaine Johnson fit again after suspension and a hamstring injury, joining Darren Wrack who is back from a three-match ban.

But Levi Reid is a major doubt after missing last night's training session with the virus that saw him replaced in midweek, while Rod McDonald plays the last game of his one-month loan deal from Oldham.

Whatever team takes to the pitch, Flowers insists they perform to their best - or it could be their last game for the club.

He said: "Things will have to move at some stage and I shall obviously be the judge of when that happens. I am going to have to flip it around.

"I said I would give everybody four to five games to give me a proper chance to have a look at them, whether it be a match or in training, and I think that time is pretty much up now.

"I am beginning to see what is what, form an opinion and see patterns develop.

"I think I have got my opinions now."

Flowers want his players to stand up and be counted tomorrow, against a Harrogate team comfortably mid-table and with double the points Rangers have managed to muster.

But the hosts have had a mixed bag of results at home winning, drawing and losing two each of six games at Wetherby Road.

With that in mind, Flowers believes Rangers need to take the fight to their opponents tomorrow.

He said: "Harrogate is a tough test for us, we will be competitive like we have in every game so far.

"We have got to dig in and fight even harder than we have been doing, at the moment we are fighting for our lives.

"I want characters and leaders, who dig deep very single week. If we can do that, eventually we will turn things around.

"Only raw effort, commitment and drive can get us through this."
