A 15 point haul from Ali Bressington brought in-form Stourbridge Saxons a comfortable three-try 25-6 win against Tynedale.

The experienced right winger kicked two penalties, then converted tries from centre Tom Jarvis and wing colleague Charlie Fellows, before rounding off with a spectacular 90 metre interception touch down of his own.

The win extends Stourbridge's recent National One run to six wins in seven games and solidifies their position in the top six.

They now enter next week's home game against table-topping Barking with genuine optimism.

Fly-half Gavin Beasley gave the visitors an early advantage with a well-judged 35 metre penalty, after Stourbridge were offside in midfield.

Thereafter, the Saxons dominated first-half territory and possession, but too many basic errors meant they failed to convert this superiority into points.

Fellows' slashing break set up a good try-scoring opportunity in the tenth minute, which ended when Williams was unable to link with his support.

The home side finally went ahead when on-loan debutant Worcester Warrior Greg King broke through the Tynedale midfield, before perfectly timing his offload, to send centre partner Jarvis barging over.

Bressington added the extras and was soon on the mark again with a straight-forward kick after Tyne infringed on the ground.

Little had been seen of the visitors as an offensive force but, as their scrummage settled, they finally flexed their attacking muscles shortly before the interval.

After Beasley missed a 35 metre penalty chance, sustained pressure saw home hooker Wordley despatched to the sin bin, for a ruck infringement under his own posts.

This time the visiting fly-half made no mistake from point-blank range.

There was still time for a sweeping home attack, which ended with Bressington hitting the post with a close range penalty, after Tyne infringed in the tackle.

Stourbridge opened the second period brightly, with a superb multi-phase attack. Dale winger Hamish Smales was yellow carded for killing the ball under his own posts, in the process presenting Bressington with three easy points.

Tynedale countered strongly, but the arrival of replacement Tim Pickard shored up a defensive five metre scrum, before Tom Richardson snapped up a loose ball and kicked clear.

The Saxons were now dominant and, as the game went past the hour mark, Fellows and Bressington's try-double sealed the home win.

Former Worcester winger Fellows steamed 35 metres into the left corner after the outstanding Rupert Cooper carried on a counter-attack started by Matt Williams and King.

Bressington extended the home advantage to two scores with a superb touchline conversion, before his breathtaking solo effort sealed the game.

It began with an interception in the depths of defence, following a period of sustained Tynedale pressure and, ended 90 metres later, as he dived over the try-line close to the visitors' posts.
