Kidderminster Harriers utility man Chris McPhee drew an unlikely comparison to the great Bobby Charlton from manager Steve Burr after his winner at Histon.

McPhee's 34th minute volley settled the Blue Square Premier game at Bridge Road, as Harriers climbed to seventh place in the table after six games unbeaten.

It left boss Burr gushing with praise for the midfield match-winner after the match, comparing his lovely finish to one of the goals scored by Manchester United legend Charlton in the 1968 European Cup final.

He said: "It was a bit like the one Bobby scored against Benfica in the European Cup but most people probably wouldn't remember that, as they are too young!

"But it was great to see and I am pleased for Chris. He has gone back into the middle of the park and has done a great job but he's still getting amongst the goals."

McPhee has been a jack of all trades for Harriers this year having been used in defence, midfield and attack since Burr took charge in January.

But the 28-year-old is still top scorer with eight goals and admitted his latest strike was one to remember.

He said: "I am pretty pleased with it, actually!

"It was a quick corner, nice and bright by the boys. Lee Vaughan whipped a ball ball in that was just around that knee height, so I have just opened my body up and its looped into the far corner and gone in off the post.

"It's kind of a lucky ground here as I have scored a couple here before.

"It's gone in - so happy days, really!"
