The ball is already rolling among Kidderminster Harriers supporters for raising cash to pump into the debt-stricken Blue Square Premier club.

Harriers were bought last week by their former chairman David Reynolds, but only this week did it become clear of the grim reality of the financial situation at Aggborough.

Reynolds believes the club would have been in administration by now without his intervention, with the club £250,000 in debt when Barry Norgrove handed over the reins seven days ago.

It's a long way back but the 400-strong Kidderminster Harriers Supporters Trust (KHIST) are playing their part in fundraising by today announcing a club-endorsed monthly lottery, with all of the proceeds forming a regular income into Aggborough.

It wont solve the problem but it's a start, as Harriers look to stave off the threat of financial ruin taking it one day at a time.

Fans are still reeling from the shock of the events of this week, but KHIST acting chairman David Pountney is urging them to stick together.

He said: "As angry as I am sure we all are, we have to look to the future. What has happened, has happened and the club need our help.

"We are lucky that David Reynolds has stepped in, we came very close to administration and I don't think it we had very long left.

"It sometimes takes times likes this for the fans to unite and our support is the highest it has ever been.

"We are talking about ways we can help, both financially and voluntarily.

"But the club needs help from the fans, businesses, the community - everyone."
