Tim Flowers looks for Rangers' best
Stafford Rangers manager Tim Flowers has warned his players nothing but their best will do as he prepares for his first away game in charge.
Stafford Rangers manager Tim Flowers has warned his players nothing but their best will do as he prepares for his first away game in charge.
Flowers will hit the road with the squad for the first time as Rangers boss, with a trip to the rapidly-improving Solihull Moors in the Blue Square North tomorrow.
His first game in charge ended in a 2-0 defeat at home to Gloucester last Saturday, leaving the manager eager to get off the mark at Damson Park.
But Flowers will have to do without Nick Wellecomme and Jermaine Johnson, with defender Mark Dudley also struggling with the thigh strain that saw him replaced against Gloucester.
Wellecomme is facing another fortnight out with an ankle injury, while Johnson sits out the second game of a five-match ban.
However, midfielder Darren Wrack can play tomorrow before starting his own three-game suspension.
Former England international Flowers will come across two familiar faces in the Solihull ranks tomorrow, having worked with goalkeeper Jasbir Singh and assistant boss Micky Moore during time coaching last season at Kidderminster Harriers and Redditch respectively.
And the manager is not expecting them to give him an easy ride.
He said: "Solihull have done well this season, it will be a tough game but we will be up for it.
"I don't think anyone is going to be an easy game for us, we are going to have to be at our best and tomorrow we will need to be at full throttle.
"It's what I demand, that we keep pushing and keep going for the full 90 minutes every single week.
"It's like we are going to the San Siro, so we will be set up to defend as a unit and go forward as a unit.
"That's what football is all about to me - 11 men working to a plan in and out of possession."
