Stourbridge Saxons have been warned against the dangers of complacency ahead of Saturday's match at home to National League One strugglers Redruth.

That's the message from director of rugby Neil Mitchell who cautioned his players against underestimating the Cornish side after Stour's impressive second-half performance sealed a 32-23 win at Rosslyn Park.

The Saxons will have noted that Redruth recorded their second win of the season last weekend, beating Tynedale 27-22 to leap-frog Sedgely Park in the table.

Mitchell said: "It happened to Rosslyn Park, after their win against Tynedale. They put in a food first-half performance against us but then got complacent.

"One lesson we need to learn is that you can't come off the back of a win and expect the same thing to happen the next week. It has happened to us before and it happened to Rosslyn Park.

"Redruth are at the wrong end of the league but we cannot take them lightly.

"We know that another two five-point wins will put us where we need to be in the table."

The Saxons chief was full of praise for his players after they overturned an 18-point half time deficit on Saturday.

He said: "We did well around the tackle area and the back-row were brilliant, competing for the ball without giving too many penalties away.

"They had the confidence to only send in three or four players to the breakdown."

Mitchell was particularly proud of the goal line stand in the closing stages where his team kept Park out despite being down to 14 men following James Freeman's yellow card for killing the ball.

He said: "We have had four games now where it has gone down to the wire, so the players are not fazed by it, they are not panicking or making silly mistakes."

Winger Matt Williams could make his return against Redruth after missing the last two games with a shoulder injury, while Luke Cozens' impressive display when coming off the bench at Rosslyn Park could put Cameron Brown under pressure at fly-half.
