Kidderminster Harriers attacker Chris McPhee believes the Aggborough Class of 2010 can go one better than the promotion-chasing team of two seasons ago.

Harriers, led my then-manager Mark Yates, finished sixth in 2008/09 and only missed a play-off place on the last day of the season, after a one-goal home defeat against Kettering.

McPhee joined the club in the February of that campaign and played a key role in midfield, signing a two-year contract the following summer.

Last season saw a transitional phase for the club heightened when Yates left for Cheltenham last December, with Steve Burr raking over as manager in January.

Burr could only steer the team to mid-table but has overseen a complete overhaul in the close season, with McPhee one of only four players surviving the cull.

Improved form has seen Harriers climb to within four points of the play-offs and McPhee believes the good times could be coming back to Aggborough.

He said: "When I first came to the club, there were a huge amount of big-name players and was strength in depth as well, lads who had achieved a lot in the game and progressed to a higher level.

"But through financial difficulties since then we have had to look to new blood and then to a new manager in my second season, who obviously wanted to bring in his own players.

"It's my third season at the club and it's a completely new team again, so every time there will be different ways of putting themselves together and building momentum.

"But things on the whole are developing nicely, the boys are improving and getting to know one another, results are starting to pick up and we have progressed up the table.

"The way the team are gelling is very exciting to watch, we have got that spirit among us where we can dig deep and rise to any kind of situation."
