Kidderminster Harriers midfielder Jack Byrne is a serious doubt for the FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie against York at Aggborough.

Byrne has been struggling with his groin but played through the pain in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Kettering and needs to be rested before the problem gets any worse.

His midfield partner, captain Keith Briggs, has also pulled his hamstring, while left-back Mike Williams is facing a race to be fit after a week out with a hip injury.

Williams is much-needed as his understudy, Aaron Griffiths, is suspended for three games after a red card on his full debut at Kettering, while striker Marc Williams is not allowed to play in the cup under the terms of his loan from Wrexham.

It's the sort of depletion Harriers did not need for what will be a tough all-Blue Square Premier tie tomorrow, against a team under new management after Gary Mills took charge last week.

In fact, half of the league are playing against each other in the round, but Burr warns the cup is very different to any other matchday.

He said: "It's going to be tough, Gary has gone in there as manager and given the club a lift, so it's probably the wrong time for us to play them in that respect.

"We beat them in the first game of the season but it will be totally different tomorrow, it's the cup and you need a little bit of the rub of the green on the day.

"To get them at home is about all we could ask for, it's a tough tie but there are a few all-Blue Square Premier games in the round."
