Kidderminster Harriers' problems at left-back could eased by the return of Mike Williams to training ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie against York.

The 23-year-old sat out the 1-1 draw at Kettering and his final game for Wales' semi-professional side last week, after pulling a muscle in his hip during a training session with the national team.

Aaron Griffiths came in to take his place for Harriers but was sent off for a challenge on Jean-Paul Marna, a harsh straight red card that will rule him out of the next three games.

Utility man Tom Shaw filled in as the team went down to 10 men but is predominately a midfielder or right-back, hence is not a preferred option.

But Williams is set to return to training tomorrow and, provided he comes through that and Friday's final session with no response, will return to the squad and most likely the team for York's cup visit to Aggborough.

And the Welshman, signed from Wrexham in the summer, believes he will return fitter than ever.

He said: "I have got all this week to make sure I am right for Saturday, it's down to me and I am eager to get it sorted out so I can come back into the team.

"With the week's rest my legs have already recovered from our start to the season, where we have had a lot of games in a short period of time, so once this injury settles down I should be ready to go again.

"I should be OK, we think the area is just inflamed so rest will be the key, it's not a serious problem where I would be out for weeks."
