Coseley's Jamie Ball will face Telford's Kieron Gray for the vacant Midlands light middleweight title in the main event at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on November 28.

The British Boxing Board of Control has cleared the two to fight for the belt, which has been given up by Leicester's Martin Concepcion ahead of his shot at British champion Sam Webb on October 16.

Unbeaten Ball had been expecting to be put in for a title fight on the last Civic show of the year and a shot at the area crown represents a real opportunity for the 26-year-old.

'The Black Country Bully' has racked up 10 straight wins since turning pro in 2008 but Gray represents his sternest test yet, with five wins out of seven since his own debut two years ago.

However, Ball is determined to step up to the plate and put on a career-best display to take his first title.

He said: "I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity, I am over the moon with it. Midlands title fight, top of the bill - I just can't wait!

"If I can win this, I can maybe follow in the footsteps of the champion before me and kick on to that British title, so I have got to go out there and prove that I have got it what it takes.

"It's the biggest step in the right direction I could have had, a genuine British Boxing Board of Control title which means a lot more to me.

"I am expecting the toughest fight I have ever had, but if I put on the best performance of my career I will get the biggest reward.

"At this stage of my career, this is my world title."
