Kidderminster Harriers winger David Hankin was today still a doubt for Sunday's Blue Square Premier home game with AFC Wimbledon.

Hankin had to be replaced after an hour of Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Fleetwood after pulling his hamstring, although Harriers have not completely given up hope that he could make the clash with the current league leaders.

Their only definite absentee is player-coach John Finnigan and even he is making good progress recovering from a long-term calf injury, having trained for most of this week.

Nick Wright, who missed the Fleetwood game with a bug, is expected to return, while Callum Gittings, Ollie Thorne and Lee Vaughan are also expected to shake off knocks to play.

Harriers go into the game unbeaten in five games, the sort of form that will be needed against a Wimbledon side rising the crest of a wave after beating much-fancied Crawley to go top last night.

Thorne made his debut during that run after signing from Newport County but manager Steve Burr is eager to share the plaudits.

He said: "Ollie has done great and we are pleased with the way he has settled in but it's not just him, they are all getting better and improving with every game.

"People like Michael Briscoe are doing well, Danny Lewis is getting stronger with each game, the likes of Jack Byrne and Callum Gittings are also coming along.

"These lads are new to the league and starting to adapt to it now, it was always going to take a bit of time."

The manager has also called on his team not to let their good work slide despite difficult opposition on Sunday.

He said: "We are on a good run at the moment and we want to take that into Sunday now.

"Wimbledon are flying at the moment, they get good support and have rekindled the club of old, so they are definitely on the up.

"At this level they are quite a big fish."
