Stafford Rangers captain Craig McAughtrie believes that the injection of fresh blood into the the team has been the shot in the arm that was needed at Marston Road.
Former Walsall midfielder Darren Wrack made his debut in Saturday's home game against Gainsborough, while right-back Ashley Woolliscroft returned to the club for a second spell on a month's loan from local rivals AFC Telford.
Both played a role as Rangers ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win, as Chris Brindley's new-look side put Brian Little's men to the sword.
The revamp saw Wolliscroft take up the full-back spot with Andre Francis moved to the wing, with Wrack partnering Levi Reid, who was operating on the flank, in the centre of midfield.
McAughtrie believes the shake-up worked and, ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie at Eastwood which the skipper will miss through suspension, is a clear warning that action will taken on players who don't produce the goods.
He said: "It needed a bit of a shake up, maybe one or two were getting a bit too relaxed because there was no competition for places. Now that the gaffer has brought a couple in, you know that we are not guaranteed to start or stay on if you are not performing.
"Ashley gives us more going forward, he's quality and as players we would like to have him in there with us for as long as possible.
"The addition of Darren Wrack in the middle is the big one for me. We needed somebody experienced in there to pull the strings and organise the midfield, someone that's relaxed on the ball when it's flying around at a high tempo, someone that can put a foot on it and calm things down.
"They are a couple of good signings for us."
