Kidderminster Harriers' injury problems appear to be clearing ahead of the visit of Cambridge to Aggborough.

Lee Morris, Jack Byrne and Michael Briscoe all appear to be winning their fitness fight to make the Blue Square Premier game, but midfielder John Finnigan is still some time away from a return with a calf injury.

Morris missed last Saturday's win over Hayes & Yeading with an adductor muscle strain, the game in which Byrne and Briscoe were stretchered off after suffering ankle and knee injuries respectively.

But all three were able to train fully yesterday and, if they come through today's session with no reaction, should be available for selection tomorrow.

Harriers go into the game coming off back-to-back wins, which has seen them climb to within three points of the top six.

But such is the tight nature of the league after eight games played that Cambridge could leapfrog them with a win, coming off the back of a 2-0 defeat to sixth-placed Luton last time out.

The visitors also contain much-travelled striker Daryl Clare who, despite one goal in six games, has been pinpointed as a dangerman by Harriers manager Steve Burr.

He said: "It's early days but we are three points off Luton at the minute and we haven't hit any heights yet, so that shows how hard the lads have worked.

"That is encouraging and I feel that we can get better – there are still players here who are finding their feet at this level but I am always impressed with what I see in training – it is just about putting that into a match situation.

"We know that every game is a tough game and it will be the same tomorrow.

"They have some experience and players like Daryl Clare have been around the scene for a long time and he can change a game."
