Ashley Young's hint at Villa future

Crown jewel Ashley Young has dropped his strongest hint yet his long-term future lies with Villa.

The England winger has long been the subject of interest from Tottenham, but Villa and his representatives again met earlier this week to discuss extending his existing deal.

Young is Villa's top earner on £65,000 a week and is contracted to the club until summer 2012 - hinting he could be ready to extend his stay.

He said: "I thoroughly enjoy playing at Villa Park - it's a great venue.

"The fans have been tremendous in every game I have played in claret and blue.

"I am looking forward to many years ahead."
