Harriers hopeful that duo will be fit

Kidderminster Harriers will run the rule over Jack Byrne and Michael Briscoe before deciding whether they will be fit to face Cambridge on Saturday.
Byrne and Briscoe are making fast recoveries from nasty looking challenges sustained in the 3-1 win over Hayes & Yeading last Saturday, which saw both players leave the field on a stretcher, with ankle and knee injuries respectively.
But both are not as serious as they first appeared and hasn't stopped them training this week, with the current signs good that they could be called upon for Saturday's home game.
However, both Byrne and Briscoe must prove their fitness in training before they will get the green light to play.
Physio Gavin Crowe said: "Thankfully it appears that the damage has been done after Michael had gone up for a header and landed with this leg straight, rather than any hyperextension of the knee.
"Jack picked up an ankle injury after rolling it, again with a player falling on top on it. Although this was initially very painful, it doesn't look to be too much of a concern which is great.
"Although there was a bit of soreness for both coming back in this week, we're hopeful that they'll be available for selection against Cambridge - providing they are able to train without any problems on Thursday and Friday."
Harriers manager Steve Burr was in the dugout for the England C team that faced Wales last night at Newtown's Latham Park, fulfilling his duties as national boss Paul Fairclough's assistant.
The friendly game ended a 2-2 draw, with Harriers defender Mike Williams playing the full 90 minutes, while his younger brother and club team-mate Marc came on as a substitute.
Back at Aggborough and a former Harriers boss was in town, Mark Yates bringing a Cheltenham side for a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Yates' men won 2-1, with Kyle Hadley getting the goal for Harriers.
