Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has joined Championship club Leicester on a 28-day loan.

Ikeme became the second player in as many days to swap Molineux for the second-tier on a temporary basis, after new Cardiff signing Andy Keogh.

The 24-year-old is needed with regular Foxes goalkeeper Chris Weale out for two months with a shoulder injury and the inexperienced Conrad Logan the only other senior custodian.

Wolves' shot-stopper is no stranger to Leicester manager Paulo Sousa, who took him to QPR last season and played the goalkeeper in all his 17 games for Rangers before the Portuguese boss was sacked on April 9.

Sousa said: "Chris's injury is not serious, hopefully, but it's something we needed to react to.

"We have reacted well and very positively. Carl is joining us for 28 days and we will see in the future what can happen.

"He's a player who will help us and he's an excellent keeper.

"I think this is a huge opportunity for his future and I hope he takes it."

Ikeme was Wolves' most goalused keeper in pre-season.

But the third-choice has slipped down in the pecking order behind first-choice Marcus Hahnemann and Wayne Hennessey, who signed a five-year contract in the summer.
