Stafford Rangers face an anxious wait to see if their first-choice strikers Nick Wellecomme and Ben Mills face a period on the sidelines.
Both had to be replaced in Tuesday's 1-0 win against Solihull Moors on Tuesday night and face a race to be for Saturday's second home game of the week against Guiseley.
Wellecomme couldn't put any wait on his ankle after the match after being sandwiched by two defenders, so will now undergo an X-ray to see if their is any lasting damage.
Mills was struggling throughout after a pulled thigh muscle got gradually worse, with him joining his strike partner as a big doubt for Saturday.
But Rangers can call upon Chris Sterling, who climbed off the bench in the 52nd minute on Tuesday night to grab the only goal of the game.
The 24-year-old's reputation at Marston Road is growing after catching the eye in pre-season and he is expected to make his first Blue Square North start on Saturday.
But assistant boss Steve Wynn has asked supporters not to put too much pressure on the inexperienced striker, who was playing Midland Alliance football for Rocester last season.
He said: "Chris has that something about him, we have recognised that, he's certainly different to the other two strikers that we have.
"He's very sharp and quick over four to five yards, with that turn of pace that defenders do not like, ask our lads and they will tell you!
"But we need to remember that this lad has come from the lower leagues and it's a big jump, like asking a Conference striker to go straight into the Championship.
"With the size of our squad he will get plenty of opportunities, but he will have to learn quickly.
"However, his hold up play and link work with his team-mates is getting better all the time."
