Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr has warned his side it won't get any easier in what he rates as the hardest Blue Square Premier yet.

Harriers are two games into their season having already won and lost a game, the impressive 2-1 success at York on the opening day followed by a 4-3 defeat to Southport in their first home game of the season on Tuesday night.

Beating last season's play-off finalists and then losing as hosts to the promoted Blue Square North champions paints a sobering picture that they are no easy games in this division anymore, further evidenced by Saturday's opponents Mansfield losing 3-0 at home to league new-boys Fleetwood in midweek.

Even those down from the Football League, Grimsby and Darlington, have dropped points already after drawing in midweek, with only Luton and AFC Wimbledon left boasting 100 per cent records.

Harriers themselves have the visit of Mansfield then two games in Wales at Wrexham and promoted big-spenders Newport County to come, before the first month is closed out with a home game against Tamworth on Bank Holiday Monday.

And boss Burr admits that standards must be kept high just to keep the pace with the rest of the division.

He said: "There are a lot of good teams in this division now, so every week you are going to come up against very strong opposition. I would say this season is probably the strongest line-up this division as had, without a shadow of a doubt.

"They are all going to be tough games, every one of them. We know we are in for a hard season but it's coming together nicely at the moment.

"It's going to take a team effort from us all season and all of the lads have been working hard for one another, every single one of them."
