Stafford Rangers boss Chris Brindley is expecting decisions from some of his yet-to-commit players when his squad return for pre-season training.

The manager will meet with his charges for the first time since they broke up for the summer break at the end of April tomorrow night, with four of of last season's team having already verbally agreed to stay while defender Craig McAughtrie and striker Ben Mills have signed one-year deals.

But there has been no word yet on wing duo Levi Reid and Fabrice Kasiama, both regulars in the past year, although both are expected to attend training.

Ditto with Ross Davidson and Danny Glover, who were released by Football League club Port Vale this summer after finishing last season on loan with Rangers, although Glover has been training with AFC Telford in the last week.

But last season's captain and 13-goal top scorer Nick Wellecomme will be present, despite having signed for Blue Square North rivals Corby three weeks ago, before having a change of heart and asking his new club to release his registration.

Brindley has yet to speak to the striker, with reserve team boss Andy Bates acting as the conduit between them, but the manager plans crunch talks with him and other key men before they get down to business on the training field.

He said: "There's a few things to sort out with Nick, but we will see what happens tomorrow night. I'll have a good chat with him and see what he wants to do, I know what I will get from him as a player and I didn't want to see him go in the first place.

"But it's decision day for quite a lot of them, because I only want people who want to play for the football club, so there are a few that will need to make their minds up pretty quickly."
