Freed Walsall midfielder Mark Bradley has emerged as a potential target for two League Two clubs as he looks to kickstart his career.
Beaten Wembley League Two play-off finalists Rotherham, as well as Burton Albion, have asked about the 22-year-old, although the former's interest is believed to be the stronger of the two options.
Wordsley-born midfielder Bradley is well known to Millers assistant manager Jimmy Mullen, who watched him become a regular when the latter was first number two to Richard Money before replacing Money as Saddlers boss.
Having worked as Wales under-19's coach for several years, Mullen has been ideally placed to see Bradley's emergence at international level down the years too.
Mullen is an obvious familiar face to the player, while the close proximity of Burton is a plus which would mean the midfielder would not have to uproot.
But the former Saddlers man may opt to bide his time and keep his options open in the belief that interest from League One, where he has played most of his career, may come his way.
Bradley has already begun to put the frustration of his release behind him, having made his full international bow for Wales within 10 days of the Saddlers announcing his release appearing as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 friendly defeat against Croatia in Osijek for John Toshack's injury-hit side.
The playmaker is looking for a fresh start, after being one of seven players released from the Banks's Stadium last month, following 103 appearances for the Saddlers over the last five years.
Back at the Banks's Stadium and Walsall are awaiting a decision from goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin and winger Julian Gray on their futures.
The pair are the only two players yet to show their hands on contracts offered them last month after Manny Smith, Daryl Westlake, Jamie Vincent, Richard Taundry, Alex Nicholls and Will Grigg all signed new deals.
But boss Chris Hutchings has been hit with one surprise, after Mark Hughes decided to do a U-turn and join North Queensland Fury rather than accept his deal which leaves the manager searching for a centre-back and captain for the new season.
Young midfielder Paul Marshall is Walsall's only new summer signing so far.
